Jazz It Up: Quick Candied Yams

Need a quick dish that’s sure to please? Start with a can of Bruce’s Yams!

Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 (40-oz.) can Bruce’s Yams Cut Sweet Potatoes in Syrup; drained and 1/2 cup of syrup reserved
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
  • Pinch nutmeg and/or cinnamon, for serving

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place Bruce’s Yams Cut Sweet Potatoes in a deep 9×13-inch baking dish; set aside.

2. Combine butter, sugar and syrup in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.

3. Pour sauce over yams, and bake until yams are caramelized, about 20-30 minutes. Sweet potatoes may be sprinkled with nutmeg and/or ground cinnamon before serving.
